Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud is a Tunisian-Belgian screenwriter and director. He has to his credit several feature films and a dozen documentaries. “Traversées” or Crossing Over(1982, selected in Venice), “Chich Khan or Diamond Poussières” (1992, Directors' Fortnight), “Les Siestes grenadine” (1999, Cannes Junior), “Wajd or the Thousand and One Voices” (2001 , Venice), “The Professor” (2012, winner at the Carthage festival) and “Fatwa” his sixth feature film (29 times awarded) Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud also ran screenwriting workshops for twenty-five years at the Free University of Brussels.
