Born in Tunis, Sawssen Saya is a director and conceptual artist. In 2012, the short film “Bousculades April 9, 1938” won the Silver Tanit for short film at the 2012 JCC, the Artistic Excellence prize at the Luxor Festival in Egypt and a Special Mention for Best Arab Director at the 2012 JCC. International Film Festival in Baghdad, Iraq. He had also been selected in official competition at the Vue d'Afrique Festival in Montreal as well as at the Malmö Arab Film Festival in Sweden and the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.
