Born in 1957 in Sousse (Tunisia), after studying at the technical high school in his hometown, in 1979 he moved to Perugia in Italy where he attended the UniversitàItaliana per Stranieri. In 1983 with the help of a group of friends he created the Giornate del Cinema Africano di Perugia, the first festival dedicated to African cinema in Italy. He was in charge of artistic direction until 1994. Since 1986, he has lived and worked between Tunisia and Milan, where he worked for a few years with Radio Popolare and since 1990 has been organizing the cultural event Le Ultime Carovane, a dedicated multidisciplinary initiative. promoting the cultures of the African continent. In 1992 he published his first photographic book Les Enfants du Sud, a tribute to childhood in Africa, the photos of which have been exhibited in some thirty cities in Africa and Europe. In 1994, he returned to Tunisia to work for the Carthage Cinematographic Days as general delegate of this manifestation of Arab African cinema. In 1995, he attended a long three-cycle production internship at FEMIS in Paris. Between 1992 and 1996 he was co-author and producer of: Italiens de l'Autre Rive, a documentary directed by Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud on the memory of the Italian community in Tunisia and then he was the producer of Anastasia de Bizerte, a film also directed by Ben Mahmoud.
