Historian and political scientist by training, Feriel Ben Mahmoud attended the Ateliers Varan in Paris before directing numerous documentary films. Among her works are: "Les enfants de la lune" (2008), the multi-award-winning "La révolution des femmes, un siècle de féminisme arabe" (2015), "Like a Virgin" (2020), and "Divas, from Oum Kalthoum to Dalida" (2021).
