Born in Tunis in 1984, she is the daughter of director Nouri Bouzid. She grew up in Tunisia, and spent her adolescence in Tunis. After the baccalaureate, she moved to Paris to study literature at the Sorbonne. After the co-directing of a first short film with Walid Mattar, Bonjour (Sbah el khir), she completed her studies at La Fémis in the "directing" section. In 2013, Zakaria was his first short produced1. He received the Bronze Stallion and the Thomas-Sankara Prize at Fespaco 20153. In 2015, his feature film, Barely I open my eyes, was selected in several festivals.
