Selma Chekili is a young Tunisian passionate about cinema. Trained as a clinical psychologist, she has been working as a psychologist for about ten years. Selma is also a professional musician, trained at the conservatory and in the private sector, she is active on the Tunisian and international scene as a jazz and bossa nova singer and pianist. Selma Chekili recorded her first album "Jazz standards" in 2008. Selma has been interested in cinema since she was young. She made her first appearance in a soap opera at the age of 17. She took film lessons as part of an optional module in the first year of her training in psychology at the Faculty of Toulouse. It was in 2020 that she decided to approach her passion more closely, benefiting from training in directing and facing the camera. In 2021 she has a main role in a short film. In 2022, she appears in a second short film. It is as part of her training to "face the camera" that she is led to write her first screenplay "A tea without pine nuts" which will take about a year to write, and that she is approaching directing. Passionate Selma worked hard to give life to this first cinematographic project, thanks to her training, but also her personal research, but also with the solidarity of the actors, the technical team and his family. Selma Chekili, enriched by this first experience and driven by a passion for cinema, wishes to continue directing and acting in other future projects.
