Elma Riza is a French-Tunisian artist, video maker, and director. She studied at the Berlin Fine Arts School, where she graduated in 2012. Video and photography have been her medium of choice throughout her studies, which has led her to create numerous experimental videos, but also more recently mini-documentaries on the Berlin and Tunisian art scene. She recently won a "Female Voice award" at the Minute Berlin Festival held at the Lichtblick Kino in Berlin for her video "When a line goes for a walk". "Three Women" is her first short fiction film. The theme of women and ecology is omnipresent in the work of Elma Riza. In her approach as a video artist she stages herself in dialogue with landscapes, approaching the question of the evolution of our environment. Her feminist approach takes place in her video portrait projects, where she consciously chooses to highlight women artists in their personal worlds. For this she creates two series: one that will start in 2020 "INSIGHT# _ Women Artists Berlin", funded by the Kunstfonds foundation and another one that was created in 2022 "Women Artists in Tunisia", which she realized in partnership with La Boîte_ Un lieu d'Art Contemporain Tunis.
