Sonia Chamkhi is a professor at ESAC, a doctor in cinema, audiovisual and television (Paris-Panthéon-Sorbonne), a graduate in image design, film direction and scriptwriting, Sonia Chamkhi is a filmmaker, writer and researcher. Winner of the Grand Prix (Awards) of the 52nd edition of the Florence International Women's Festival (PERSONA) for her documentary Militant Women in 2015 and the Trophies for Best Feature Film, International category, of the FESTICAB (Burundi 2016) and FESTILAG (Ivory Coast 2018) for Aziz Rouhou / Narcissus, his films have been selected in many international competitions including the Carthage Film Festival, FESPACO, Dubai International Film, San Francisco, Vue d'Afriques, Namur, Montpellier, Marseille, Brussels Mediterranean Festival, Créteil Women's Film Festival, Panorama of Maghreb and Middle East Cinemas, Toronto Festival... They were also broadcast by the following television stations: TV5 MONDE, FR3 Corse, BBC, 2M-Maroc and Al Wataniya 2 and Al-Hiwar -Tunisia. Sonia Chamkhi is also a writer, author of four books that have won numerous national and continental literary prizes including the CREDIF Prize for Scientific Research in 2003, the Zoubeïda B'Chir Prize for Women's Creation in 2008, the Comar Prize for First Novel in 2009 and the Honourable Mention of the NOMA Prize for African Publishing in 2009. She is a member of the Parliament of French-speaking Women Writers.
