Tunisian director, producer, and screenwriter. Graduated from the Higher Institute of Multimedia Arts of Tunis. In 2012, he founded ARTWORKS PRODUCTION with his brother Aymen Moncer. Since 2014, he has been the general director of the "48 Hour Film Project Tunis" festival. Akram Moncer is renowned for his commitment to exploring themes of identity, memory, and ethnographic subjects. His cinematic style is distinguished by the use of poetic images and meticulous attention to detail. His latest film, "Agreb Majnouna" (2022), won the UGTT award for the best Tunisian documentary feature at the 33rd edition of the Carthage Film Days (JCC) and the best documentary feature at the 8th edition of the International Human Rights Film Festival in Tunis, "Human Screen Festival." In December 2023, the film won the special jury prize at the International Trans-Saharan Film Festival in Zagora, Morocco, and received a special mention at the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival in April 2024. He has worked on several documentaries for the Al Jazeera Documentary channel. His first feature-length documentary, titled 'The Migratory Birds,' was made in 2014, highlighting the cause of the Sahrawi people in the refugee camps in Tindouf.
