Born August 23, 1959 in Zarzis. Mohamed Zran undertakes higher cinematographic studies at ESEC in Paris. Then, he signs three short films as a director; Virgule, 1987, The Stone Breaker (1989) selected for the Un Certain Regard selection at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival and Ya Nabil (1983) before directing, in 1996, his first Fictional Feature film Essaida.
