Mehdi Hmili was born in Tunis. He graduated from the Paris Film School. In France, he directed his black and white trilogy on love and exile: X-Moment (2009), Li-La (2011) and La Nuit de Badr (2012). His first feature film, Thala Mon Amour (2016).
